PJ Brunet started building online services in 5th grade. As a freshman at University of Florida, he had already coded a web reporting system for IBM. After graduating in 1999, he coded user engagement algorithms, tracking cookies for quality scores and click-path behaviour maps.
Naturally, all this technology afforded PJ time to read and practice writing. He heard about blogging in 2004 and dove in. While studying Magazine Article Writing in San Antonio, he wrote a WordPress plugin to uncover social media trends, launching his blog to 12 million pageviews and 50,000 comments.
Scaling WordPress to this level was exhilarating, but the pitfalls were uniquely challenging. PJ now had valuable combat experience that could benefit popular bloggers and midsize publishers. Most of his time is spent writing PHP code, editing CSS and spelunking Linux.
